Dependence Over Comfort

Fasting reminds us of something we easily forget: we are dependent on God for everything.

When comfort is removed, clarity often follows. Hunger has a way of exposing what we rely on most. And while fasting can be uncomfortable, it leads us back to the truth that “man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

Trading Self-Sufficiency for Trust

Our culture celebrates independence, but God invites dependence. Prayer shifts our posture from “I’ve got this” to “God, I need You.”

At Peak City Church in Colorado Springs, we believe faith grows best in community. You don’t have to figure this out alone. Whether you’re exploring faith or returning to it, this is a place where questions are welcome and growth is nurtured.

For You and Your Family

As parents pursue spiritual depth, kids are discovering God in meaningful ways too. Peak City is a church with great kids programs, intentionally designed to help children experience Jesus in ways they understand and enjoy.

Prayer for Today

God, I admit my need for You. Teach me to rely on You instead of my own strength. Shape my heart during this fast. Amen.
